Mel Moranelli is a Montreal-based Art Director and Creator, known online as Mel Mo. Balancing a fast-paced career as an Art Director by day and a Creator in her spare time, she brings a personal aesthetic rooted in escapism. Through her lens, she captures a dreamy, transportive quality, sharing moments that feel carefully styled, peaceful, and calming.
More than just a daily routine, bathing is a moment of deep serenity and renewal for Mel. Stepping into the bath or shower becomes a rare pause, a time to reset and reconnect. Inspired by generational rituals passed down from her mother and grandmother, Mel’s bathing practice is a blend of tradition and personal indulgence. Here, she shares the details of her bathing routine and the small moments that make it feel sacred.

"There is a deep serenity at bath time for me. It is one of the few solo moments I have in my day. Being surrounded by people, questions and projects; bath time is that rare opportunity where all I have to do is stop, care for myself and wash. It's a sort of spiritual cleansing, and afterwards I feel renewed."

"Bathing can be in the morning, afternoon or the evening for me. It happens at my quietest moment of the day which is never the same. I make a fresh French Press, gather my towels, pull up my playlist, brush my hair and sink into my bath or step into my shower. After some pampering, I like to dry myself with a fresh towel in the sun, drink coffee and zone out into the view from my home.
Candles, coffee, music and my body sculpting tools are the key elements to my bathing routine. Lately, I’ve been loving my wasabi candle and listening to upbeat tracks."

"I would say my connection to bathing is more of a generational one. The habits of my bathing rituals are from my grandmother and mother; everything, except for the playlist and drinking coffee in the shower of course. The way I gather my folded towels and washcloth, my method of bathing from hair washing to skin cleansing and to the hanging of wet towels in the home."
"Cherished bathing memories of mine are sitting on the ledge of my bathtub as a child as my mother detangled my hair."
