BAINA represents the reconnection to ones bathing routine. A conscious awakening in preparation for the day ahead, or the slow disconnect of the day that has passed.
We recently had the pleasure of chatting with our beautiful friend and New Zealand-based artist, Ophelia Mikkelson Jones. Hailing from Auckland New Zealand, Ophelia finds balance in doing what brings her joy, consisting of ocean swims, taking an outdoor bath and being a new mother.
"In July we had our first child and I have taken more baths in the past 3 months than I have in the past 30 years! When we moved into our home about a year ago, there was an outdoor bath already living here, just outside our bedroom. I thought it was novel and would watch Ryder enjoy it but never indulge on my own. Then our son arrived and the three of us are constantly filling up the bath. Bath time has become a family activity."
"Salt water is my favourite beauty tool. I enjoy the feeling of salt drying on my skin, and sand sitting in my scalp. I love to be held by the buoyancy of the sea."

"I like to brush my hair and pin it up before I get in the bath. Also, having a fresh towel awaiting me at the other side— the bigger the better. We use our Baina pool towels for everyday towels… which feels indulgent and special."
"When I was little I would sit on the baths edge and talk to my mother whilst she had a bath. I think it is important for women to see other womens bodies, especially those that have aged and stretched and birthed."
"Being a mother, and a parent with Ryder, I feel the most connected to myself and my family than I ever have. He is pure bliss, there is something about babies that bring the present moment and eternity into the same place and time."
"I feel most renewed after swimming in the ocean with Ryder, and doing what brings me joy."
