Residing on Gadigal land, Sydney Australia, mother of two and photographer Hannah Scott-Stevenson refined her passion for story telling at The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. Her photographic style portrays a perspective that is often emotional and poignant in nature, a quality that resonated deeply with us.
In this instalment of BAINA’s Motherhood Series, Hannah shares her family's bathing routine and restorative rituals that cure a night of disruptive sleep.

"My partner recently installed a big old clawfoot bathtub in our garden. Without sounding too dramatic, it's transformed our lives. My two boys love the water. Playing in it exhausts them which means a better nights sleep for them and us."

"I never particularly enjoyed baths before I had babies. I'm not very good at sitting still. A remedy to restore tired bones but not something I particularly relished. Now with two small boys, bathing is a treasured time to pause and play between the chaos of dinner and bedtime."
"The feeling of soapy 'skin on skin' is something I cherish with my babies. There are magical powers at play in those moments."
- Hannah Scott-Stevenson

"I would give up coffee before I gave up my morning shower. Nothing restores me after a broken nights sleep quite like water rushing from my head to my toes."
