Volume 04.
Rob Tennent
Constantly inspired by travel and architecture, Rob Tennent's work shows a perspective that is unlike anyone else we have worked with. Capturing intimate moments between models within candid frames of movement.
For BAINA Bathe Vol 04, our friend and Sydney-based (Gadigal land) artist shares his personal connection to bathing by the ocean captured through his own lens at Long Bay in New Zealand. Join us as we get a glimpse into his own exploration of self-reflection.
"Bathing to me is allowing yourself to make time to cleanse and prepare for the day ahead or one that is coming to an end. It is multifaceted and means so many things to different people, but to me it is a way to zone out."
"I am in tune with myself when I am alone bathing in the sun on my towel; it allows me to think and plan. "
- Rob Tennent
"The ocean has a way of grounding me and to remind me of my priorities. The ocean and the sun work together in calling me to the beach. The sound of the breaking waves draws my dry and hot skin. I imagine the sensation of cooling my entire body, and before I know it my toes are already in.
A crisp towel and warmth from the sun calls me as I step out."
"My favourite ritual at the beach is drying myself. I shake my towel out, getting rid of shells and sand. I then lay my towel down and press my face down to dry my fringe and skin.
Another ritual of mine is to rinse off in beach showers right after a swim; nothing beats that feeling."
"I am always inspired by the scenes on the shores. It is a constant reminder to stay grounded."
